For example, as Bex put it, “If you tacked one ironing board to your fence your neighbors might call you crazy, but when you tack ten ironing boards to your fence they call you an artist!” There is power in numbers when it comes to accessorizing and displaying your decorative items in such a way that makes those treasured items more special and packs a punch! And there is no better feeling as a designer than to be able to bring order and create meaningful focal points using what a client already owns and loves.
4 Guidelines to remember when making your groupings:
· Group like objects or collections together
· Group like colors together with mixed objects and varying textures
· Group small collections of artwork into a larger whole by hanging them on a focal wall with only ½”-1” maximum space between them
· Group odd numbers of items and use varying heights for visual interest. (old books are great for stacking to add height)
